realize i may give the impression that i don't work since all i post are my adventures. in reality i worked quite a bit and it's been an amazing learning experience.
the swiss foundation i've been working with is trying to feed the world better by bringing together public, private, and civil society groups to increase food fortification. part of their programming involves private-sector partnerships, which is where i've been contributing these last few months. among other things, i've gotten to:- participate in the planning of their US business alliance event
- attend a sustainability conference
- create and edit pages on their external web site
- work w/a consultant at the world bank on getting their oil fortification project started
- write a TOR for a staples food fortification study
- write a proposal for the Clinton Global Initiative
- conduct an internal review of their relationship with civil society organizations
i've been very fortunate to see firsthand how my job back home connects with my studies. it motivates to want to try harder, and gives me some reassurance that i'm on the right track.
i got really lucky. besides enjoying the work, i also got to collaborate w/fabulous people! they have really made me feel like a member of their team, and i hope to work w/them again in the future.
