Last Wknd In Geneva

fri, aug 25th - returned from paris to have lunch w/a coworker, eat cheese and wine w/more coworkers, and then run off to a fundraiser (yes, i did work inbetween!). the fundraiser was w/a group called Green Hope, raising money to reconstruct a home in Hikkaduwa, Sri Lanka. my friend Mike asked for volunteers a month ago, and since i had committed, i spent my last official wknd in town...

arrived around 6pm to help set up for a fundraiser bbq, and was immediately told to decorate. that's my butt in the foreground. thank you jackie or leo or whoever took that picture!

hsein, jackie and alex were among those serving food.

eventually we left for another party in another park, this time as party attendees. got home around 3:30am...

sat, aug 26th - after sleeping in and doing a little shopping i went to a 10 course dinner my friend mike arranged. i ate WAY TOO MUCH. there was so much food! he kept saying to pace ourselves, but that was kinda hard to do... L to R around the table: rick, natalie, jackie, cindy (i think?), ann-marie, greg, mita, mike, and sogul? (don't know how to spell her name!) after dinner we went to a new lounge-type bar down the street called heaven.
later we went to another bar and met up w/rodge and erik (the 2 on the R). when i told erik i was from MN, he said, "so you know cargill?" hee-hee... yes, i know cargill. turns out he works in the geneva office for ocean transport. thot my evening was going to end there, but rodge and erik took me to shakers since it was my last wknd in town and i hadn't been there yet (and for good reason - it's another horrible club scene). finally got home around 3:30am...again...

sun, aug 27th - very lazy day. slept in til noon and then met up w/my friend dominic (who hates this pic but since he doesn't have my blog address it's ok for me to post this photo, right? hee-hee...)
it was at coffee w/him that it finally hit me - i leave on friday. friday. at the time that was only 5 days and counting. somehow it seemed far away, but now it's really caught up with me. i'm really looking forward to seeing family and friends again, but the more i think about returning to a crazy schedule of work and school 13 hrs a day, the harder it is for me to want to go...
