Signs?

i'm starting to think i'm not meant to return to the US...

• Aug 10th - UK authorities uncover a terror plot where crazy people wanted to blow up as many as 10 planes flying from london to the US.


• Aug 16th - fighter jets escort a UK plane flying from london to DC.


• Aug 18th - a bomb threat forces a UK flight to land in italy.


• Aug 25th - a college-educated idiot takes dynamite onto an int'l flight to the US.


• Aug 27th - a pilot uses the wrong runway and kills almost everyone on board.

who are these people and how are they getting on to planes to begin with??? i realize the last 2 events have nothing to do w/london to the US, but they have everything to do w/flying into the US and planes that i have to ride on. my friend rick's suggestion of taking a booze cruise on the way back is starting to sound better and better... it'll take longer, but maybe it's worth it...

i leave friday from geneva to mpls, changing planes in london. LONDON! baggage and security restrictions are tight according to all the travel warnings i've read, but even worse if you're flying london to the US. supposedly i get to go thru EXTRA security. should sound reassuring, right? really that just means they get to flip thru my underwear and frisk me more. gee, lucky me...

and just when i didn't think it could get any worse, i find out that NW airline workers were trying to go on strike last friday but were stopped by a federal court judge. i'm suppose to fly from london to mpls on NW. HOW CONVENIENT!

i'm sure i'll make it home just fine. we'll just see how long it takes...
