Two Octaves Higher

so this is what it feels like to go thru puberty backwards...

went to chicago this wk (post to come) and felt fine when i got back last night. even felt fine this morning when i got ready for work (except for the pain resulting from my mad-dash thru the airport -- again, post to come). but when i got to work and someone greeted me, i couldn't respond. somewhere between last night and this morning my voice disappeared.

normally this isn't that big of a deal. when i lose my voice it usually becomes a soft, raspy whisper. but this time my voice came out 2 octaves higher. i sound like a chimpmunk.

thot it was bad enough that my voice was so horrible, but then it got worse when i was sitting in class this afternoon and our professor went on a tangent to which i said "what's your point?" didn't think he heard me, which he didn't, but he saw me and asked me to repeat myself. my friend amy interpreted on my behalf, explaining i lost my voice (before class she was also laughing non-stop at how ridiculous i sound). rather than diverting attention tho, it only peaked his interest so he asked me more questions. lets just say a lot of laughing ensued, including him trying to explain that he was laughing with me, not at me...

admittedly, i do sound like i've been sucking on helium all day so feel free to call if you need a good laugh. hopefully this won't last tho!
