went to a party at Joel's house last night, who i had just met the wknd before at Dan's New Year's Eve party. uber good time! reminded me how much i miss meeting new people and getting out. w/the exception of Dan and his friend Anthony, i had only met half the people for the first time last wknd and didn't know the rest. it was so much fun!
besides having a stellar time, i couldn't help but fall in luv w/Joel's house. it has beautiful woodwork, built-ins, and a scorched fireplace from a previous fire way-back-when that got a bit out of control (you can see the burn marks all over the brick...think there's a ghost story w/that one).
the best part of all is the home is in this FANTASTIC time warp, including (as Dan puts it) a Jackie O kitchen and dining room. he's totally right too -- the furniture even matches! not sure what mesmerized me more: the window treatments and lace or the fuzzy wallpaper. no joke -- IT'S AMAZING!
can't repeat anything that was said last night for fear of embarrassing someone or just sounding crass (the title of this post should be enough -- thank you Kraig for your inspiration!), but i can say the evening involved gossip, some cheerleading, and lots of yummy wine...thank you Joel for the invite and the fabulous time!
