just got an email from my aunt in Korea. it's traditional to wish your elders a Happy New Year, and they in turn wish you the same, along with a specific short list of things they "hope" for you in the next year. i put "hope" in quotes cuz the underlying message is "git-er-dun". the big point she made this year was:
"2007년엔 멋진 남자 친구를 만나서 재미있게 보냈으면 좋겠다."which essentially translates to: "in 2007 i hope you meet/find a nice, interesting boyfriend to send you off with." (read: get married)

OMG, there's no way i'm going! and i'm not being stalked cuz there was no blog sharing. you're not helping!
Chica when it comes to relatives and marriage there is no rest until the ink is dry on the marriage license! My dad had a birthday party last night so I brought an old boyfriend because he wanted to come of course the next day my grandmother tells me that she was so excited to see him and when should she expect an engagement ring? I was like "what are you kidding?!?!" I just started talking to the guy again last week and she wants an engagement ring...so i feel your pain!
