my funny moment of the day...
was meeting w/a coworker about e-sourcing tools and mentioned how helpful it would've been to have had a crash course on the system we use at work. next thing i know i'm being invited to his next workshop and my boss is endorsing it w/orders to take time out and tour the plant.
and while this is a GREAT opportunity for me to get some hands-on training and learn A LOT of stuff i want/need to know, the timing couldn't be more off...
him: great! i'll sign you up. it's in blair, NE on mar 26 or 27, or whatever that mon/tues is towards the end of the month.
me: blair, NE? and is it mar 24 & 25? cuz that's the mon/tues of that wk.
him: WOW! you're right! how did you know that? do you have a calendar imprinted in your head?
me: not exactly...
not only am i turning a new decade this year, but now i get to do it in the middle of a corn field at a 2-day workshop in SMALL TOWN NEBRASKA. lol.

Dude, you are not spending your birthday in Nebraska. Ick.
My mom's dad's family are all from Blair, NE!! There's lots of Danish stuff to do there.
If you don't go there during that time, you should go eat a cheeseburger at a bar by yourself and demand free drinks.
