got the following from my friend brenna today:
"the JCPenney's store had these huge sesame street characters in the children's department. whenever mom, pete and i were shopping there, he'd wander off and we'd find him over by the cookie monster having what seemed to be an in depth conversation. i doubt pete was relying on a variation of the Marcel Proust interview though."
