Hello Again!

i know, i know, i've been on hiatus. but if you just finished your master's while working like mad, you'd take time off too! sorry i haven't written in a while. wish it was due to some fabulous vacation now that i'm done w/school, but really i've just been tied up w/work. my never-ending saga continues, but i'm hoping there will be an intermission in early june (can you say MEXICO?)...

here's an update...

may 9: went to St. Paul (for those that don't know, that entails crossing the river which i only do when going home to my parents house or crossing state lines). my friend ruthie and her capstone group were hosting an open house of all their hard work this past semester. arguably it just entailed play doh and little kids, but then again, you could say my capstone was just about pizza...

their project, CONN-ECT, examined the community connections and perceptions of St. Paul's Frogtown and Summit Ave neighborhoods. and they did a really nice job! my favorite part was reading the perceptions of the little kids. ruthie's group gave them cameras and asked them to take pictures of their community and write what it meant to them. one of the kids took a picture of a grocery store and said he like it cuz he likes to eat. THAT'S MY KIND OF KID!

may 10: worked, did a crisis simulation, went to the bar.

may 11: crammed like mad.

may 12: took my last final at 10:30am (thank you ATM for studying w/me beforehand!). had to miss my brother's graduation, but at least prof barnett showed up to proctor the exam. we chatted afterwards so we're still friends...

that night friends becca and josh arranged a "be sure your hung over for graduation (and if you don't drink you can still come)" pub crawl. started at becca's place, and tho we had a number of stops on the list, we only made it to 1 bar...

later that night i met some people in NE mpls, which is where i found my friend ken. we lived together our freshman year in the dorms, and after that experience NOTHING he does surprises me anymore. was walking down the sidewalk when i looked up and found him dancing w/some chicas thru the upstairs window at The Front.

now that school's over, i can have a social life again. IT'S SO NICE TO BE DONE!

(top to bottom, L to R: neighborhood displays done by kids for ruthie's capstone; megan, jeff, amy, josh, and gabriel at grumpy's; ken and 2 random women; josh pretending to be a wrestling superstar)
