Dancing In the Street

after a rough wk of bad news, smashed hopes, and mundane packing, i decided i needed to go out. so friday night my friend jenny m. kindly took me to zeno for some wine and crème brulee (which is ridiculously yummy there!). after drinking most of our shared bottle of wine (and when i say drinking most, i mean ME drinking most of it...), we stepped out onto hennipen ave's night life, which on this particular evening comprised of crazy people in costume dancing on the street. LITERALLY. there was even 1 dude dressed like elton john playing an electronic keyboard and wearing something david bowie might have once owned. hello rocket man...

when we asked what they were doing, one of the characters ENTHUSIASTICALLY explained they were trying to bring dancing back to the streets of minneapolis. WHAT? i had no idea it was there to begin with. needless to say, the evening out was exactly what i needed...
