Internet, Wandering, and a Creepy Old Man

INTERNET
the internet is not my friend! was left an internet kit to hook up to the phone, but the phone hasn't worked either. still, i was informed today that all is just fine and i should be able to connect...

as i found out, there are a few problems w/this kit:
1) the instructions are in german, french, and italian
2) i can't read german, french, or italian
3) it doesn't want to install w/o a 10 digit serial number, and the one on the box has only 8 digits.

as it turns out, language issues or not, i have this thing running. it only took 2 hours, a phone call to zurich, and a lot of patience...

WANDERING
because i was not able to get on internet yesterday, i spent my afternoon trying to figure out the bus system. it's not that hard; i just don't know when its coming or where it's going. fortunately, a nice girl at one of the local stores told me to take the #3 to manor, a large shopping area in the commerical zone of geneva. it's like a mini downtown marshall fields, complete w/a marketplace. after buying a hair dryer and a crossiant, i got a latte (which REALLY costs a lot-te here!) and walked thu the commerical area on my way home.

CREEPY OLD MAN
along the way i passed by this guy that kinda looks like the NBC News DC correspondent. normally i would have thot nothing of it, but he stood next to me on the bus when i first arrived and just stared at me as if he hadn't he seen a weary little asian woman w/luggage before. totally creepy! this time on the street, with my coffee and crossiant in hand, he did it again! and as i walked away, i looked back to see if he was still there, and he was - head cranked backwards so he could stare at me as he walked away. WAY TOO CREEPY! was kinda hoping he'd walk in front of a bus or something...

that's all for now. i promise not to complain tmrw (unless my internet starts acting up again).
