Rest of the Wknd

after making a final decision and sticking with it, we decided to spend the rest of saturday afternoon on the mall.

it wasn't the prettiest of days, but it was nice to not be apt hunting.

we spent a few hours at the national air and space museum, and saw the hubble show. todd didn't believe me when i told him that the gigantic version of the museum was way out in VA, but the info desk girl helped me out...afterwards, we walked thru the mall and found the biggest hawk ever. seriously, this thing was the size of a house pet. we watched it eat something for a while, and then spit out an organ (which was verified by one of the other spectators who picked it up w/a stick). gross!

then we continued on all the way to the lincoln memorial, stopping inbtwn to see the sights.

the reflecting pool is currently under construction to fix a major leak, and looks more like a dirt bike course right now than a pool.we ended our evening w/dinner and headed back to the hotel to pack for our flight home sun AM.

(top to bottom, L to R: todd uber excited to look at space stuff; model of the spirit of st louis; a real apollo lunar module; ginormous hawk; lincoln memorial; reflecting pool mud pit; vietnam memorial; chocolate cupcake from buzz cuz every evening should end w/cake!)
