First Day

first day on the new job and it was GREAT! i hope i feel this way months from now...

spent the majority of it on a skype video call going thru orientation w/the national office. lots of paperwork and info to go thru, but i think i'll have most of it filled out by tmrw AM.

i now have a spacious little cube, which is different than the offices i've had in the past.

even more different is that i've already been assigned a blackberry, which i've avoided over the years like FB.

the craziest moment was at the end of the day when my boss gave me a book to read that he found helpful in doing the job and suggested i read it at work.

AT WORK. he wants me to find a quiet corner and read it AT WORK.

he also wants me to watch some videos HBO made a few years ago on the subject, and says i should watch them at work.

who does that?!

this concept of learning a new job at a normal pace is totally foreign to me. it's so foreign that i ended up bringing everything home w/the thot that i was going to do work at home on my 1st day. i guess old habits die hard. maybe i'll make my new habit to leave work by 6pm!
