Erick's Birthday
in addition to packing, being lazy, and a trip to mexico (which i'll eventually post), i went to cedar rapids, iowa right after my job ended to celebrate my younger brother's 30th birthday.todd came with and officially met my family. introducing boys to my parents used to seem like a big deal, but it really wasn't.
if anything, the bigger deal was trying to get mom to make something in korean w/o meat in it. todd is vegetarian, and mom (along w/many other korean moms) has no concept of a veggie-only diet. i think if i ever tried it, i'd be disowned.for example, mom was telling me how erick was going to buy veggie burgers for todd to eat since they were planning on grilling.mom: where you buy veggie burger?me: at the grocery store.mom (in total disbelief): REALLY? i no see before...
(top to bottom: erick holding a piggy golf tee from dad; the most amazing cake baker i've ever met torching erick's birthday cake (which she made, of course); erick attempting to blow out trick candles)
