Resumés

walked in thurs to a 2ft high stack of resumés waiting for me (this isn't even half).

2 ft! do you know how many resumés that is???

i'm suppose to flip thru them in the hopes of forming a small pool of potential candidates for my replacement here in atlanta. i didn't leave the office til 8pm last night, and so far only a couple of maybes.

and i say only a couple of maybes, not because there aren't a bunch of smarties in there, but because there aren't many w/program management experience. if you're an MD, an experienced surveyor, or a statistical guru, you're very smart and capable of handling the quantitative side of the job.

but if you haven't managed people or a budget before, if you haven't fundraised, or if you haven't liaised with high level organizations, then you're not getting a maybe.

the sad part is, we haven't even posted the job yet. imagine how high the stacks will be when we do...
