today was a long day.
4 conf calls, 1 meeting, 1 reprimanding discussion where i had to be the bad guy as always, and 12 hours later it was finally over.
i feel horribly defeated on days like this.
like i accomplished nothing. like all my work on partnerships and food are doing nothing to save the world.
like i'm so small, i could be squashed.
by a stranger. by anyone.
even by bigfoot, and he's not even real.
but then i dropped off brownies w/a friend, and watched him eat them in the 10 mins i was standing on his porch like they were the highlight of his day.
and then i found a job posting while eating dinner for a soon-to-be-jobless soul, and he got really excited.
and then i got an email about an upcoming trip to singapore for a work meeting w/nice advice for the plane ride over.
and while i don't believe you can realistically feed the world solely on organics, i am a big supporter of local economies and this article gave me a bit of hope.
(and it confirmed that perhaps my parents are OK having dug up their backyard into a semi-obscene garden w/chicken wire and cement blocks and an obnoxious amount of green onions sticking out of the ground cuz apparently immigrants know a thing or two about sustainable living.)
and then it was all better.
