Things We Forget
when you're gone as long as i've been from geneva, you forget some things... like they can smoke indoors despite big warnings that it's not good for you. apparently switzerland is one of the last countries in Europe that continue to allow indoor puffing (thank you mpls for being smoke free!).
i also forgot how much i liked the lake. used to cross it daily when i lived in champel (i.e. kenwood of mpls), but since my hotel is on the same side of the water as work, i don't get to see it much. note to self: get out more often!
spent my saturday wandering around, shopping and people watching. even ran into my friend alex at globus, who took a while to figure out who i was (i forgot how different i look from the last time he saw me). it was cloudy, but WARM (i.e. low 50F). sorry people in MN!
speaking of people in MN... spent my sat night at a birthday party for 2 girls i didn't know, but made some new friends while i was there. got to talking w/one and it turns out he's from remer, MN (~25 miles from grand rapids). needless to say, he and i were the ONLY people excited about our small world moment.after a few drinks at seven (which was the SMOKIEST place i've been at in a while), the birthday party moved to shakers. i stayed for a little while, and then had to go home. i can't stay out that late anymore!(top to bottom, L to R: alex & me on the couch at seven; mike, me, nat, and rick at seven)

I love the names of these bars. Every one makes it sound like a place I wouldn't want to go to. And how come none of them are French or German or Italian names? Aren't those the languages spoken there? Or is it mostly English?
i love that picture of you, mike, rick and moi.... you should put more photos of you in your blog, girl !!!! ;-)
peter! how are you? if you came here, i'd only take you to bars w/o english names. then again, i don't know of any bars w/o english names...
nat - when i get off my lazy bum, i'll send an email w/all the pics i've taken. no guarantees that i'll be in them tho :)
