Planes, Trains, & Automobiles

ok, haven't experienced the train part yet, but it's coming, IT'S COMING!
  • took a cab to the airport;
  • took a plane to amsterdam;
  • and as i type, i am waiting for a plane to zurich.
and even after that, my trek isn't over: i have an hour long train ride (see! i said it was coming!), and then another taxi ride to the hotel. shoot me now...

here's the trip so far. and bear in mind i'm only about 12 hrs into it.

Jan 13, ~7:15pm mpls time | having dinner and checking email at a chilis in the airport. thinking why did i pick this place? i don't even like chilis!, but the french meadow was on the other side of the concourse and i was lazy (still am, but we're talking about 12 hrs ago). the fries were yummy, which i later balanced w/a skinny chai and CNN's broadcast of the uber quick golden globes. atonement should NOT have gotten best picture (sorry carrie)! couldn't help but be amazed at the sheer # of people that are at the airport on a sunday night, including a 4 yr old whose mom thot it would be OK to give her a cell phone so she could sing along w/a song. whoever created the umbrella(?) song should be shot.

Jan 14, ~3:00am mpls time | flight is well underway and i'm realizing what a weirdo i had to sit next to. he was tall w/red hair, wind pants (cuz apparently sweats would've been uncouth), and one of those little travel wallets that hangs on a string long enough to wrap around your body (methinks that tip's from rick steves). he woke up for all meals, ate everything on his plate, and would often stare at his tv monitor as if he was commanding the screen to come to attention or produce more airline food.

Jan 14, ~6:30am mpls time | after marching from one end of the airport to the other side, i now find myself sitting at an internet kiosk across from a pretty boy w/what looks to be a perpetual tan and too much hair gel. really want to laugh out loud at him and his pink polo, but can't quite bring myself to do it. after sitting on a plane this whole time, my greasy face and poofy hair doesn't exactly extend me any kind of courtesy...

1 hour and 15 mins til i start moving again...

I will not stand for such insult towards Atonement! We shall have words about this and possibly a dual when you return.
