*sigh* ever have to make a difficult decision?
here's the latest dilemma: i have a couple of opportunities on the table and 2 wks to figure it out which to take.
opportunity #1: food-related policy work, requires domestic travel, and would be w/REALLY COOL people. totally comfortable and somewhat familiar w/the work so i'm confident i'd be successful here. on the flipside, i'd have to deal w/a lot of red tape and potentially lose $.
opportunity #2: more business than policy, still food-related, and has a global focus. involves some international travel and i'd make WAY more $. the description i wrote for it was approved, but the people in charge still have yet to come back w/a more prescriptive set of deliverables and a concrete start date. and even tho i have zero experience doing what they want me to do (i can spend $200 at BR, but i've never spent $75 million), my boss is confident i'd do just fine.
speaking of which, my boss has been one of the most FABULOUS PEOPLE EVER as i weigh my options. he took time out this wk to try and help me sort thru the pros and cons, not as a boss, but as a friend. it's that kind of compassion and genuine support that makes it hard to leave the people i work with.
that's also why i'm struggling to make a decision. yes #2 offers a lot of what i'm looking for, but #1 offers the work environment that, for me, is just as important as the other benefits.
thots? advice? please offer your two cents. i only have 2 wks and can use all the help i can get!

#2
Valerie
really? that's what my brother said too.
I remember when we talked about this at length when the opportunity fist came up. I'm still positive you should go with #2.
i'm agreeing with everyone so far--#2. Seems like there's more opportunity in #2 than in #1 Plus, I just see you doing international travel more than domestic travel, and that #2 seems like "your cup of tea." ~~Melissa
