Daughter of the Year

went to chicago w/my parents. for those that don't know, a chicago trip w/my parents goes something like this:

fri: after work drive to rochester, arrive around 8pm. hang out w/fam, call fam in korea, and go to bed around 11pm.
sat: get up at 4:30am, drive 5.5 hrs to chicago, run around, drive 5.5 hrs back to rochester arriving around 1am.
sun: wake up, drive back to mpls after breakfast, go straight to the office.

i officially give myself the daughter of the year award. normal people don't run on fast fwd, but for some reason they like to. they were on the hunt for some wedding items for my younger brother and his fiancee, and for a few things for chu-suk (korean version of thanksgiving) the following tues. i had to go with cuz erick and melissa couldn't make it and they needed a navigator.

among other places, one of our stops was H-Mart, quite possibly the prettiest korean grocery store i've ever been in. to many this may seem stupid, but it comes w/restaurants, a mini-mall, and pretty colors! it was my 2nd visit there, and i was still impressed. my mom, on the other hand, was less so. evidently she still prefers the hole-in-the-wall on kimball ave...yes b, the one we used to go to that has people screaming at you in the parking lot...

ps for jenny -- there's a yummy korean bbq place right behind H-Mart. tell them you want galbi right when you get there cuz you'll need to sit at a booth w/a grill. if terry doesn't take you i will on my next visit!
