the monday after my chicago adventure, i took off for atlanta. was trying to get out of this trip, but it was an opportunity i couldn't pass up. several folks i'd be working with on opportunity #2 were gathering for an executive mgmt team meeting at the CDC, quite possibly one of the coolest places i've ever been.
i was invited to the mtg to meet people, further discuss the job, and attempt to figure out whether or not this was the right fit for me, but the timing couldn't have been worse. it was a wk before some major events, and i had lots of work to do! ended up being a good visit, and i have A LOT more clarity around the work proposed to me.
failed to take pics and get a hold of a local friend, but i can tell you that Emory University has a HUGE campus, the CDC is way cool, and atlanta is ridiculously hot. i can only imagine what it's like in july...
was also incredibly fortunate to make some excellent contacts, hear some good stories, and make a small mark in the sand. i'm feeling better about the risks being proposed to me, and i think i'll be ready to make a decision in the next wk or two.
