Gilligan's Island

had a work event tnite on lake minnetonka, one of the largest lakes this close to the city. normally i skip these sort of things just to ensure some work/life balance (i like having a distinction!), but this time i caved under pressure and went. my coworkers are hilarious, so it was actually a lot of fun, even after the the storm hit.

in case you didn't know, hanging out on water isn't exactly the SAFEST place to be when there's thunder and lightning. picture a bunch of people on a boat, the sky suddenly darkens, and the rain comes POURING down (see coworker Doug trying to stand straight). for whatever reason it was right about then when the theme song to gilligan's island suddenly came to mind...

obviously there was no major panic and i made it back to land just fine (otherwise you wouldn't be reading this). thank god for the professional driving the boat and the wine that was on board :)
