Sequoia National Park - Day 5

we got lucky and just missed the rain.

our last day on the trail was a misty one. it started nice, but very quickly became overcast and ugly.

halfway to the end of the trail we came across our 2nd bear.

and this one was only 20 ft away!

it looked to be about 80 lbs, but it was probably weaned already cuz we didn't have to deal w/a protective mama bear while we stared at it for 20 mins... SO COOL!

we also saw our 1st snake on our way out.

i wasn't paying attention and almost stepped on him...

we ended our visit w/a walk around general sherman, the girthiest tree in the world.

(if you look closely, you can see people at the base of the tree. he's huge!!!)

in total we saw 4 bears (including a mama and baby on our way out of the park while stopped on the side of the road), which was a new record for todd.

this trip was so much fun. can't wait for the next one!
