Exhausted

getting ready to depart saigon and i'm exhausted. it's been a long wk. sorry for the lack of posts, but this is my first real chance to sit down and relax. and when i say relax, i mean not having to stand around in high heels and a suit, and pretend like i luv my job.

btw, if you ever get to this side of the world, take the time to see the mekong delta, the war museum, and get some tailoring done. i've never seen so many places that could have you fitted for a new suit/shirt/dress/skirt for SO CHEAP and in 24 hours or less. i, of course, never got around to it cuz i spent all my time working...

that said, i did buy myself a little present on my way to the airport for surviving my first EMT meeting (the equivalent of their board) as should-not-be-the-executive-officer-of-the-global-secretariat-but-somehow-got-stuck-with-it. i even got praised during the mtg, but i think that's cuz they see the onset of burn-out status after only a month, and were trying to woo me in.

i need more wooing.

i also need an aspirin. saw the DR last fri when i stopped in mpls on the way to saigon, and my blood pressure was 150/98. 150/98! and she took it 4 times over the course of the appt. it didn't help that i had gotten up that morning at 3:30am after 2 hours of sleep, was running solely off a caffeine high, and delta had just lost my luggage w/my materials for vietnam - but i was otherwise fine...

and now i need a vacation. after the wk i had, going home will be about as close as i get.
