Apt Hunting - Day 3

saw 8 more places today, and i'm ready to poke my eyes out. i'm so tired of looking! of the 30+ places i've seen, i've narrowed it down to 3.

option #1 is the stacks, an old cotton mill turned condo. it's going to cost me a fortune in utilities, not to mention rugs and shelving (it has polished concrete floors and no where to put anything). and while i luv that it's located in cabbagetown and right next to the little restas/shops on carroll st, it was also hit hard by last year's massive tornado and still under lots of construction.

option # 2 is located by the carter center, in poncey-highlands. it's the smallest of the options, but unlike the stacks, there's green space nearby (unless you count oakland cemetary, and i don't cuz i don't want to run by dead people). it's cute and clean, but i would have to drive to EVERYTHING, including any coffee and pancakes i might want on a saturday morning.

option #3 is the probably the nicest in terms of space, but it's located on briarcliff road. people drive like madmen on this road (i.e. 50 mph in a 30 mph zone). there's no traffic light nearby and parking is limited so any visitors will be parking across the street and playing frogger to get to the other side. it's also the most expensive of the options, but the owner said she'd be willing to negotiate. i don't know how much she'll come down, but it better be significant. was told to expect utility bills in peak months as high at $100+. add on my $70+ cable & internet bill and my $70+ phone bill and you get a mortgage payment.

i have to make a decision tmrw AM and i can't decide. imagine that.

option one. but that's because I like the concrete floors.
