i, however, got to do it in blair, NE. it's so small, semis drive down the main street (which is ~4 blocks long).
yesterday went roughly like this:
4:30am, wake up bewildered
5:30am, leave home for airport
6:40am, board plane
7:40am, ponder if the plane is ever going to take off
9:00am, finally land in NE
9:20am, get rental and drive to blair
10:00am, start workshop in a basement
6:20pm, return to omaha and check into hotel
and as stupid as it sounds, i had wondered over the wknd if J was going to call. i figured he wouldn't, but still couldn't decide if i was going to be OK w/that or not. the last several months have been a series of firsts w/o him in my life, and admittedly they've been really hard at times.
despite the depressing start, it turned out to be an OK day. i got phone calls and messages from morning to midnight. i even got emails from people i had no clue knew it was my birthday (robbie peterson never ceases to amaze me!). the people at the workshop were really nice and let me slack a little cuz i was 1 year older. and my 2 cohorts took me out for dinner and drinks, which involved a cheeseburger, fries, and a lot of whiskey...
he never called and i didn't cry. and when i woke up this morning, i was still OK. i'm a rock star.
thank you everyone for sending luv my way. xoxo.
