Wedding, Wrestlers, and Review
(nat - i made it back eventually!)
after finally getting home from dakar, i jumped back on a plane sat morning to mpls. family friend mark was getting married and i wasn't going to miss it. and of course where there's family friends, there's family to see too.i've known this family forever. mark and his sister sasha used to attend my dad's tae kwon do school when we were younger. my younger brother erick and i would spend wks at a time at their house, and they would do the same at ours.
and now that we're all grown up, everyone's getting married! yong tried and failed (she was a nut and everyone will vouch for that). sasha jumped shipped may 2006, just before i moved to geneva (and started this ridiculous blog so no pics of me w/curly hair in a bridesmaid dress). and erick got married a year ago (28th this month). so it wasn't really that big of a surprise when my parents and mark & sasha's parents were discussing how they only see each other at weddings anymore and started wondering aloud when they were going to get together next...geez people! no pressure...
i left a little early to meet up w/some friends at nyes, where i saw the most ridiculous bachelor party. an entourage of 15 guys came stomping in dressed as wrestlers. it was HILARIOUS! each guy was completely dressed up: tights, boots, bad mustaches, feather boas, fur robes, and championship belts. it was AMAZING. i'm just sorry i didn't get more pictures...besides that, it was a pretty uneventful trip. saw a few friends on sunday, and worked the rest of the time. the original point of traveling to mpls was to do my annual review, which i passed w/flying colors and now have a whole boatload of things to think about for the future.but all that future stuff can wait. for now i'm going to enjoy the 10 whole days i have to sleep in my own bed...
