friday: i went to a drive-in w/noah and his friends to see hangover, and i woke up on saturday w/one. at this drive in there are 8 screens, everything's a double feature, and it's nestled in a series of large hilly parking lots. the hills are like supersized speed bumps that you prop your car on so no matter where you park, you can always view the screen. 2 hours of tailgating and lots of oberon. it was awesome.
saturday: after the plane fiasco, i returned home and decided to make the most of my night. went w/mara and others to chandler park for the midsummer music festival.
mara was a guster groupee in their early days and still exchanges emails on occasion w/their drummer, brian. so after the show we stopped by to say hi, and ended up drinking together at the porter (ms. o - this is where i took you!). uber fun evening, esp after all the airport drama...
sunday: started out w/some yummy banana pancakes (these may be my new favorite!) and bacon at cafe di sol, followed by some packing, and errands. and since i had been rebooked on a direct flight to prague, i had a couple extra hours to spare and chose to spend some of it at morelli's ice cream. it was 97F and HOT, and this little family owned shop is da bomb. they have all the usuals, as well as some odd balls. can you say coconut & jalapeno? or how about sweet corn ice cream? i opted for banana chocolate chip and mint chocolate chip. YUM.
and then on the way home i saw this ad on the back of the bus and totally cracked up. good advice perhaps???but sadly, the wknd is over and i'm back to work. it's 12:30am in macedonia and i still have to write my speech for tmrw morning...
