Clueless

so the whole reason for the family visit was to give everyone a chance to see atlanta and for me to hang out w/my family the wknd before my birthday. seeing them was birthday enough, and reminded me how much i missed them.

but it also reminded me of how gullible i am.

my family surprised me w/birthday cake, and it was quite the surprise! i wasn't expecting any cuz to me it's not a big deal so the lack of cake hadn't crossed my mind. besides, they were flying in and who carries birthday cake on a plane???

after getting surprised and hearing the story, i will NEVER doubt my family again...
the frontthe reality
mom and melissa went for a walk to look at neighborhood housesthey were downstairs asking the coffee shop where the nearest bakery was
we had to go home before going on a beer run cuz someone had to peethey really needed to get home so they could ditch me to get the cake
yong and melissa were looking at something on the computerthey were really looking up the bakery hours, address, and phone number
erick said yong couldn't go to the store w/us cuz someone had to stay and keep mom companyyong had to stay behind to let them in cuz it's a secure building
spotted dad and melissa walking on our way to the store, but erick said not to worry about them and to keep drivingthey were speed walking to the bakery cuz i was the only one w/all the car keys
e + m's friend aaron called to say he was coming over, but since we were out, erick told him to call melissa so she could let him in the gateaaron needed melissa's # to find out where the bakery was so he could pick them up

and as if my oblivious state hadn't helped enough, i delayed getting back home by giving erick a quick tour thru the neighborhood. and even tho we still returned before everyone else, i just happened to be in the bathroom at the same time they arrived and hid the cake in the fridge.

and, of course, i didn't think anything of it when mom said to get out of the kitchen cuz i was in her way. or the fact that melissa stood btwn me and the fridge when i tried to help to put away leftovers.

the surprise was really overwhelming, their stories afterwards were HILARIOUS, and i was really amazed at how much trouble they went to just to get me a birthday cake. thank you.

and needless to say, i'm either the most clueless person in the world or i am WAY TOO TRUSTING of my family...
