Hello...
hello there! long time no post. sorry about that, but it's been a BUSY month. work, work, and more work. that, and since the bridge collapse, it sometimes takes me longer to get places that i need to get to.quick recap of the month's activities...
new house: friend becca and her fiancee michael bought a houseacross the river in st. paul (still feels like timbuktu). apparently it came w/it's own flag so the boys wanted to demonstrate how to take it down.
eleni's going away party: friend eleni took off for a month and a half visit to family in cyprus, and rather than leaving quietly, she had a party. WOOHOO! lots of wine, lots of friends, and and one stupid person who spilled red candle wax on the white carpet. BAD FORM! and no, it wasn't me...
SURPRISE!: was at a birthday party downtown and we couldn't figure out what was taking friend susan and her man mark so long to show up. turned out he was busy proposing to her. how exciting! he was uber creative in his approach and she didn't have a clue (just look at her face!).
visiting friends: by far the biggest highlight of the month was getting to see some people i hadn't seen in a while. friend jenny came for a visit from chicago, and i made her eat a small ton of blueberry buttermilk pancakes (btw, where's my picture?!). then i took off for a bit and got to see high school friend nancy, grad school friend jen, and geneva friend dominic. jen and dominic were having a conversation when i saw an opportune moment to take some close-ups :)
visiting people was EXACTLY the break i needed. it was SO NICE to hear what other people have been up to rather than focusing on the mundane details of my life. work has been keeping me horribly busy, and while i'm getting into fun stuff, i'm also getting piles more than your average bear. thank god for the upcoming holiday wknd! my road trip has been cancelled, but i think i'll be OK. it'll be nice just to have time to do stupid things like watch grass grow or paint my toes...and since work will continue to be crazy for the next month and a half, i'm not sure how much blogging will happen (as evident this past month). have lots to catch you up on, but it'll all have to wait til mid-october when life finally slows down.i can't wait til october!

good to hear from you again... go ahead and paint your nails, girl, i find that is quite therapeutic, especially after a manic week/month... you're really forced to do NOTHING while the polish dries, bliss !!!! ;-)
hi sweetie! how are you? have you crossed the pond yet to meet the parents???
whenever i get around to painting my fat feet, i'm posting a pic for you :)
