to start w/our feb catch up, we'll go back to the wknd of feb 12 when i went home for new years and dad's birthday.went to a couple of parties...
saw some familiar faces...
and watched mom make her uber yummy 만두 (mahn-du, aka dumplings)!
after rolling out wonton dough into mini circles (or you can be lazy like me and just buy the pre-made stuff at the store, tho now you probably understand where i get my becky-homecky attitude from), put your filling in the middle.
fold it half...
and pinch the ends together to seal it in a half-moon shape.
then connect the ends together...
and viola! you have 만두 ready for steaming!
i luv this stuff, and of course, mom makes it best.most of them went into 떡국 (duk-gook), which is a traditional rice cake soup little korean ppl eat on new year's day.
and as in past years, we did our traditional new year's greeting to our elders. fortunately tho, dad had nothing but nice things to say to me this year. thank god!
