Look Who Came For a Visit?!?!?!

3 years ago while living in geneva, jackie (aka aimless nomad) was my BFF. he's fun, sweet, and HILARIOUS! the first time we spent A LOT of time together was when i got 2 tickets from my boss to see the black eyed peas at the montreux jazz festival. after wandering the grounds, seeing the show, and chatting w/people he knew (who would later become my friends too), we managed to lose his cell phone, find it again, and miss every train back to geneva. we ended up having to stay awake til the 5am the next day when the trains starting running again.

*sigh* those were the days...

and since that time, i haven't seen him at all. that is, until last wknd...

on his way home from a multi-country romp in south america (and when i say romp, i mean, some very active bouncing around...), jackie stopped for just over 24 hours in atlanta.

HOW EXCITING FOR ME!!!

not only did the guy stop by, but he stayed awake the ENTIRE time. fully, totally, i'm-ready-to-go awake. i realize there isn't much of a time difference between atlanta and buenos aires, but speaking from experience, staying awake and playing hard after a 9+ hour flight w/connections is next to impossible unless you're a 3 year old child w/ADHD.

then again, maybe that's his trick. unlike jackie, i feel old most of the time. i need a day to recoup after a long trip. he doesn't. his plan was to land at home just in time to go to bed on sunday night, and still be ready to go monday morning for work. how does somebody do that??? he claims it's his way of making the most of every minute. i think it's crack.

he even stayed awake to see the mountain goats, who were headlining at variety playhouse. this is the first show i've seen since moving to atlanta and one of my favorite bands, and mr. aimless nomad stayed awake the WHOLE time. amazing.

and just as quickly as he showed up, he dashed right out. i guess that means it's my turn to visit him, tho i'll wait til the snow thaws in canada...

miss you already!
