really sick.
so sick that i can't do much of anything on a day-to-day basis besides read email and wonder when i can get off all these medications.
for the past 2+ months i've had some swollen painful lumps in my neck. and as i've learned these past 2+ months, this usually happens when you have an infection.
so after a bunch of tests and ruling out any sort of viral infection, the DRs concluded i had a bacterial one and prescribed an antibiotic.
and another one...
and one after that...
and then 2 more after that...
i'm currently on my 5th antibiotic and another prescription for the swelling, and needless to say, my body has been thru enough. the combo of drugs have made me ridiculously weak, but i'm slowly getting my strength back as i come off some of them.
(and now that i'm done w/board mtgs, it's probably OK to relax a bit, right?)
anyways... the issue seems to be that we're not getting anywhere. my body is reacting to the antibiotics, but my lymph nodes aren't. so we're taking the next step: a biopsy.
now before you completely panic and conclude that i have any sort of lymphoma, bear in mind what i said to the DRs when they started to talk to me about it: I KNOW I DON'T HAVE CANCER.
a biopsy is just a procedure where they take tissue and study it under a microscope. nothing more, nothing less. it's worse than taking a blood sample, but isn't something to panic about.
so that's what i'm doing - not panicking. i'm still planning on stomping around (body permitting) pride wknd on sat, watching the parade on sunday, and flying to manila at the end of next wk.
i'm not fearless, but i have found that talking about it helps. the more i talk about it and keep things in perspective, the smaller all this nonsense feels...
besides, if this job hasn't killed me yet, some lumps in my neck certainly aren't going to either!
