Cheap Charlie's

it seems like everytime i go home i find something new. the hy-vee on 37th street has a gas station now. there's a high-rise in downtown where the old public library used to be. and i've just discovered there's a pig off broadway.

one of my instructors at school kept insisting all semester that there was a pig near downtown Rochester off broadway. yes, A PIG. i told him we have a corn cob water tower at the fairgrounds, but no pig. apparently he's not as crazy as i thot. when i asked my family about it this wknd, they all knew what he was talking about. what the hell??? so today dad and i took a field trip to see it. the pig sits on top of cheap charlie's, a tiny hole-in-the-wall diner that serves ridiculously cheap and greasy food (think of al's breakfast in dinkytown but w/space for a couple of tables).

bizarre. totally bizarre. we have a giant pig in my hometown.
